Rotating objects

The next thing we will do is add text to label each of the account types.

First we'll select the text tool, then type in the text.

To save space, we want to rotate the titles and display them vertically to the left of the other graphics.

We'll be rotating text in this case, but you can rotate graphics, shapes and many other items using this same process.

To rotate an item, select the item you want to rotate, then click the rotate icon. Click and hold one of the red handles on the corner of the object, then move the mouse. You'll see the object rotate.

Notice that the degree of rotation is displayed in the lower left corner of the window. If we press the shift key while rotating we will rotate the item in 15 degree increments.

When we're finished rotating the object, we will move it into position..

Then we'll repeat the same process again for the other title.

There are still several other text labels to add to the presentation.

To add them, select the text tool, type them in, and move them into position.

In the “working smarter” section of the workshop we will use the OpenOffice style features to format the label text.
