| Modifying shape outlines Another property of this rectangle we could modify is the outline style. Rather than using a solid outline we could choose a pattern. We can also specify the thickness of the outline using the line width spinner box, or we could select a different color for the outline.
We want to modify the boxes we just drew to make them a bit more subtle. We'll leave the area fill set to invisible. But, we will choose to outline the rectangle with light grey. We'll hold the shift key and click both rectangles, then change the color to light gray. The great thing is that you can modify the areas and outlines of almost any shape in the same way we just modified the rectangle. Rectangles, ovals, polygons, text objects, and even graphs all share the same drawing methods. Once you've learned how to modify one object you know how to modify them all. |
